About Isaac Mark Abbott

Isaac Mark Abbott was born in Indiana in January of 1843. He enlisted in the Army of the United States of America on August 11, 1862. He served in the 68th regiment of Indiana's Infantry as a private. Abbott fought in many battles throughout the Civil War, including Lookout Mountain (1863) and those near Chattanooga and Nashville (1864). He married Caroline Maria Cole in Minnesota in 1873. They had a farm near Stearns County where they raised 10 children. Isaac Abbott died in Koochiching County, MN on May 29, 1935.
